California. Ah California. Now I know why so many epic songs have been written about you, and why you hold the place in popular culture that you do. You were AMAZING.
In December 2011, I visited San Francisco, drove from SF down to LA along the epic ocean-side Route 1, spent a few days in LA, before flying out of Cali to Las Vegas.
SF turned into my favourite city. It is an incredibly interesting place, but the vibe is what got me. That and the epic views of the Pacific Ocean juxtaposed against the winding hills, the antique cable cars, the just-right weather, and the buzzing atmosphere of the tech hub that it is.
The drive down the side of the West Coast was also breathtaking. I did not realise how absolutely stunning it was going to be, and how epic. Every few minutes, there was another secluded, shimmering beach nestled along the coast and every time I looked into the distance, huge jagged cliffs imposed themselves on the silhouette of the skyline.
But, my words really do not California justice. Here are a tiny selection of some of my favourite of the photos that I took.
