Here's to the crazy ones. The rebels. The troublemakers. The ones who see things differently. While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do...
Win/Lose Money in Vegas
As I mentioned here, I absolutely loved Vegas for the soulless, hedonistic, pleasure pit it is.
One of my specific goals in Vegas was to try some gambling (kind of obviously).
I was pretty sure gambling would appeal to me, because I like taking risks and I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie. The only thing I wasn't sure would appeal was learning how to play. Gambling always seems ridiculously complicated. I also was pretty broke after spending lots of money on the rest of my holiday, so I knew that would restrict my playfulness.
But, undeterred, I wandered down to the casino of my hotel, The Cosmo, bought a beer, and started exploring.
I soon figured out that the tables were not going to be where I was going to have my gambling adventure (this time round). They were too expensive for me. So I started to experiment on the slot machines.
Slot machines are not as fun as the tables looked, because it can get kinda repetitive, but are a good way to do lo-fi gambling. You can get 20 cent machines making them the poor man's choice! Me, yay!
I had one big win the very first time I played (and by big, I mean, I won $30) and then it was all downhill from there:
I definitely didn't come out ahead after my night at the slots, but I didn't exceed my gambling budget either - something that is really easy to do, damn those machines are addictive.
Next time I'm in Vegas, I'm going with the big bucks and experimenting with playing at the tables. I'll update here again once I do that. I can't wait! :)
